Agfa HealthCare, Greenville, S.C., was awarded a two-year U.S. government contract for medical imaging repositories, radiography and speech recognition services, imaging informatics products and other services, according to a news release from the company. Afga HealthCare is a member of the Afga-Gevaert Group, Mortsel, Belgium.
Agfa HealthCare wins government IT contract
The deal is worth as much as $60 million per year with an option for three additional years and a limit of $660 million, according to the release. The digital imaging-network, picture-archiving and communications-system contract is not the first U.S. government contract that Agfa HealthCare has been awarded. Under prior contracts, the company developed projects for HHS and the Veterans Affairs, Defense and Homeland Security departments, according to the release.
