Cindy Ehnes has been named president and CEO of the California Children's Hospital Association, effective March 21.
Ehnes replaces Diana Dooley, who left to become secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency under Gov. Jerry Brown.
Ehnes, 60, recently stepped down as director of the California Department of Managed Health Care, which oversees HMOs in the state. She served at that post for seven years.
She previously spent three years as chief of enforcement at the Colorado Division of Insurance, and spent seven years as board chair and consumer representative for CoverColorado, the state's high-risk insurance pool.
