Dr. T. Clifford Deveny has been appointed to the new post of senior vice president of physician practice management at Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Healthcare Initiatives, the nation's third-largest not-for-profit healthcare system, with 55 hospitals.
Catholic Health Initiatives names Deveny to new post
Deveny, 50, will start May 2. He is currently the president of Summa Physicians and vice president, physician alignment of the five-hospital, Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health system, where he oversees two hospitals and two ambulatory surgery centers being operated as physician-hospital joint ventures.
An obstetrician-gynecologist, Deveny previously was Summa's vice president for clinical services and service lines.
CHI has about 1,500 employed physicians, and the system expects this number to more than double in the next two to three years, according to a news release.
