The clinic was formed in 1919 by doctors named Peniston, Arnold, Parks and Powell; and it has five locations in Newnan and one in Senoia, Ga. The clinic would become part of the Piedmont Physician Group, which includes more than 100 primary care doctors with more than 20 specialists in some 15 locations around the Atlanta region, according to a news release.
On Feb. 1, 2010, the nine-physician, PAPP Clinic-affiliated Cardiovascular Consultants of Georgia joined the Piedmont Heart Institute. Also, last July, talks broke off regarding a possible partnership between Piedmont and the St. Joseph's Health System. In October, St. Joseph's ended similar talks with Emory Healthcare.
