Prime Health Services, Brentwood, Tenn., which operates a PPO for workers' compensation, group health and auto liability claims, has acquired a majority stake in Fremont, Calif.-based Applied Metrics, which analyzes medical outcomes-based data, according to a news release from the buyer.

The acquisition enables Prime to offer outcomes-based models for all provider specialties within its custom PPO offerings, helping its clients control costs, according to the release. Prime expects to integrate Applied Metrics' services into its offerings by March 31.
Prime, which was founded in 1996, has more than 700,000 providers and facilities in its PPO.
