MedSolutions, a Franklin, Tenn.-based medical-cost management company, has named Dr. Harry Jacobson to its board of directors, according to a news release.
Jacobson joins MedSolutions board
Jacobson is a former vice chancellor for health affairs at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. After his retirement in June 2009, he was named emeritus vice chancellor. As vice chancellor, Jacobson also was CEO of Vanderbilt University Medical Center; in that role, he oversaw the health system, the schools of medicine and nursing and a large faculty group practice.
Jacobson also co-founded Renal Care Group, a dialysis provider acquired in 2006 by Fresenius Medical Care.
Jacobson is a director of several other companies, including pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. and KCI, which provides wound-care medicines and therapies.
