Dr. Louise Schottstaedt and Dr. Jeff Sippel have been named co-chief medical information officers for Centura Health, an Englewood, Colo.-based system operated jointly by Catholic Health Initiatives and PorterCare Adventist Health System.
Schottstaedt is the physician informatics director at Centura's St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo, Colo. Sippel is physician informatics director for two of Centura's Denver hospitals—St. Anthony Central Hospital and Porter Adventist Hospital—as well as Parker (Colo.) Adventist Hospital.
Both doctors are on the Centura electronic health-record steering committee and have been involved in many Centura EHR pilot projects, according to a Centura news release. Ages for Schottstaedt and Sippel were not available at deadline.
A former Centura CMIO, Dr. Michael Shrift, was named to Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Clinical Informaticists list in 2010. Shrift, who left Centura in 2008, is now vice president and CMIO for Allina Hospitals & Clinics, Minneapolis.
