Universal Hospital Services, a medical-equipment rental and care-management services company based in Edina, Minn., announced it will buy Sun Valley, Calif.-based Emergent Group and its wholly owned subsidiary PRI Medical Technologies in an all-cash deal valued at about $70 million, including debt assumption.
Universal Hospital Services to buy Emergent Group
PRI Medical provides mobile surgical equipment and medical laser technology to healthcare providers in 16 states, according to a Universal Hospital news release. Among Universal Hospital's offerings are care-management software and on-site equipment-services staff.
The deal is expected to close in 45 to 90 days, according to the release.
