Physician Oncology Services, a company backed by private-equity investor Oak Hill Capital Partners, will merge with Vantage Oncology, which recently received an investment from Oak Hill, according to a news release from the companies.
Physician Oncology, Vantage Oncology to merge
Terms were not disclosed, though the investor group that backed Manhattan Beach, Calif.-based Vantage will be an investor in the new combined company, according to the Oak Hill release. Vantage was backed by several groups, including Ares Capital Corp., Camden Partners and CCP Equity Partners, according to its website.
Michael Fiore, chairman, CEO and co-founder of Vantage, will be CEO of the new company, which also will be called Vantage Oncology. Don Holton, CEO of Atlanta-based Physician Oncology Services, will be a board member.
Day-to-day operations of the two companies are not expected to be affected, according to the release. The combined company will operate 40 radiation oncology centers in 13 states and will be based in Manhattan Beach
