Left unchanged, Medicaid will cost Ohio taxpayers an additional $1.6 billion next year. That's a 49% jump in the state's share of costs for the healthcare program covering more than 2 million poor and disabled Ohioans, pushing to $4.9 billion the cost to the state for the next fiscal year.
