Cisco Systems has announced its intent buy Pari Networks, a network configuration and change management company based in Milpitas, Calif. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cisco to buy Pari Networks
The purchase will provide technology that will help San Jose, Calif.-based Cisco manage its customer networks and identify network problems, according to a news release about the deal.
“As business functions become more reliant on devices and applications that run over their networks, customers realize that maintaining the health and performance of the network is critical," Joe Pinto, senior vice president of Cisco's technical services, said in the release.
Cisco has a large healthcare business that includes telehealth solutions for remote patient monitoring and image sharing.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of fiscal 2011, according to the release. Following the close, employees of Pari Networks will join Cisco's technical services division.
