Dr. David Osler has been named senior vice president for ambulatory services for 232-bed Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance. Osler, 65, previously served as the hospital's medical director of ambulatory services, according to a Cambridge news release.

Osler also is Cambridge Health's associate chief of pediatrics; he will continue in that role.
He has also been active in quality-improvement efforts, leading ambulatory pilot projects of Cambridge Health's electronic health-record system and computerized asthma registry, according to the release.
Osler will be charged with overseeing Cambridge Health's network of primary care and specialty offices, and he will also help ambulatory-care offices implement the patient-centered medical-home model as Cambridge Health transitions into an accountable-care organization, according to the release.
