Eric Miller has been named vice president of information technology for the Indiana Health Information Exchange, a not-for-profit health exchange based in Indianapolis.
In his new role, Miller will oversee the selection of IT tools to promote the IHIE's growth and manage efforts to ensure that the exchange adheres to patient-information regulations, including those found in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, according to an IHIE news release.
Miller previously served as senior director of information technology for Ascension Health, a 76-hospital system based in St. Louis. He also was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, where he was tasked with coordinating and managing secure communications networks. His age was unavailable at deadline.
