Intermec announced a definitive agreement to acquire inventory management software company Vocollect for $190 million.
Intermec to buy software supplier Vocollect
The deal, which is expected to close by the end of March, is subject to review under the antitrust Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, according to an Intermec news release announcing the deal. Under the terms of the deal, Vocollect will merge with a wholly owned subsidiary of Intermec, and Joe Pajer, Vocollect's president and CEO, will head voice solutions for Intermec, according to the release. Vocollect subsidiary Vocollect Healthcare Systems provides clinical-outcomes and voice-technology services to long-term-care facilities.
Intermec, a supply-chain technology and product company based in Everett, Wash., said 2010 revenue for the privately held Vocollect is expected to total about $120 million. Private-equity firm Riverside Partners and private investors own Pittsburgh-based Vocollect.
