In a move that could potentially cost the city tens of millions of dollars, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York filed a civil fraud lawsuit against the New York City under the False Claims Act. The lawsuit centers on personal care services, one of the most costly segments of state Medicaid spending, and one that will be targeted for reform by the Cuomo administration's new Medicaid Redesign Team.
