Charles Christian, chief information officer at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Ind., has received the 2010 John E. Gall CIO of the Year Award, sponsored jointly by the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives.
HIMSS, CHIME announce CIO of the year
Christian has served for more than two decades in his current role at Good Samaritan and is also a member of the Indiana Health Informatics Corporation Board of Directors.
The award, named for an early champion of medical information technology, is given to “healthcare IT executives who have made significant contributions to their organization and demonstrated innovative leadership through effective use of technology,” the organizations said in a joint news release.
Christian will receive the award in February at the upcoming HIMSS conference in Orlando, Fla.
