An HCA-owned hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., has purchased an independent cardiology practice with 16 board-certified physicians, according to a news release from the hospital.

HCA's 220-bed Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, completed the acquisition of the Heart and Vascular Institute of Florida effective Jan. 1. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to a Northside spokeswoman. The practice, which has three offices and nearly 100 employees, will become part of the Tampa Bay Heart Institute at Northside Hospital.
