Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wolters Kluwer Health, Philadelphia, has entered into an agreement to buy Pharmacy OneSource, Bellevue, Wash., a provider of remote-hosted software applications for hospital pharmacies. Wolters Kluwer Health, which announced the deal, is itself a subsidiary of the Netherlands-based data-analysis firm and broker Wolters Kluwer.

Terms of the deal were undisclosed. The deal is expected to close by year-end, according to a news release.
The acquisition will give Wolters Kluwer a larger footprint in the hospital pharmacy information market that will complement its position in retail pharmacy, where it already provides software applications to check for drug-drug, drug-food and drug-allergy interactions, according to the release.
Source Healthcare Analytics, another Wolters Kluwer subsidiary, was an appellant in a case recently decided by a federal appeals court in New York that overturned a 2007 Vermont law banning certain uses of provider-identified prescription drug data for pharmaceutical marketing.
