Gai Elhanan has been named chief medical information officer of Halfpenny Technologies, a health information technology company based in Blue Bell, Pa., which provides connectivity and integration services for health information exchanges. As CMIO, Elhanan will be responsible for overseeing the development of the company's clinical and analytical technology systems, according to a news release.
Before joining Halfpenny Technologies, Elhanan was chief of healthcare informatics at 3M Health Information Systems. He also previously served as the director of medical informatics at Collaborative Medical Technology Corp., a Maywood, N.J.-based electronic clinical-workflow solutions company.
Elhanan will continue his role as professor of computer science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (Newark), according to the release. His age was unavailable at deadline.
