Vangent, an Arlington, Va.-based information technology consultant and systems integrator, has been awarded a $4.2 million lead contract by the Military Health System to enhance an electronic health-record system tool for clinicians treating patients with traumatic brain injuries and behavioral health issues, according to a news release from the company.
Subcontractors that will work with Vangent on the project are Forgentum of Manassas, Va., and N-tieractive of Falls Church, Va., according to the release.
Vangent developed a clinical documentation tool for a military program targeting traumatic brain injuries and behavioral health under a contract awarded in September 2008, according to the release. Under the new contract, Vangent and its subcontractors "will provide both functional and technical enhancements" to the tool "to facilitate and improve clinical workflows," the release noted.
The project is being managed by the MHS Defense Health Information Management System program.
