Kirk Wilson has resigned as president and CEO of 410-bed St. Joseph's Hospital, Atlanta. Wilson, 58, who has held the post since 2006, will leave the organization by year-end, according to Amanda Rosseter, a hospital spokeswoman.
Paul Johnson, St. Joseph's COO, has been appointed interim CEO, she said.
St. Joseph's has shelved unsuccessful partnership talks twice this year—first with Piedmont HealthCare in August and then with Emory Healthcare in October. But Rosseter said those failed joint ventures were not the motivation for Wilson's departure.
