WellPoint terminated Dijuana Lewis, president and CEO of comprehensive health solutions business unit and executive VP of the Indianapolis-based insurer, according to a securities filing. Lewis “was terminated without cause” on Oct. 19, according to the filing. Lewis will remain with the company until the end of the year to “assist with the transition of her duties,” according to the filing. WellPoint declined to elaborate. Lewis led the division responsible for disease management and provider relations since 2007. Sam Nussbaum, WellPoint's CMO, was named interim president of the division. … Health Choice, a Memphis, Tenn.-based managed-care organization, has named George Mayzell as CEO. Mayzell will oversee a group that has contracts with more than 100 employers, insurance companies and third-party administrators, with more than 518,000 members. Health Choice was established in 1985 and is a joint venture between MetroCare Physicians and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. Most recently, Mayzell, a physician, was senior VP, chief patient-care officer for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and also CMO at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital.
