For the past four years, Billingsley has directed more than 1,100 employees at the state agency that oversees hospital licensing and certification, laboratory field services and healthcare infection programs. Prior to that, she spent 11 years as senior vice president of Electronic Healthcare Systems, of Birmingham, Ala., and vice president of health services at Health Net, the health insurance company. Her age was not available.
Billingsley will provide strategic planning and policy direction on healthcare issues to Sacramento, Calif.-based CalPERS leadership, and manage health benefit design and health plan negotiations.
“Her expertise as a healthcare executive and in health benefits delivery will be an asset to our programs, and our members and employers,” said Ann Boynton, CalPERS deputy executive officer of benefits administration, in a statement.
