Betit returns to Utah as association CEO

Rod Betit will have a homecoming of sorts when he starts Oct. 11 as president and CEO of the Utah Hospitals & Health Systems Association, the group has announced.

Betit, 61, most recently spent seven years as the president of the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association, according to a news release. Before that, however, Betit served separate stints as interim executive director and executive director of the Utah Department of Health.

Betit started at UDOH in 1987 as director of healthcare financing, and later served as executive director of the Utah Department of Human Services. Prior to that, he served in various medical and public assistance programs in Alaska for 12 years.
