St. Thomas Health Services, Nashville, said it has hired Dawn Rudolph to be president and CEO of St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, effective Nov. 1. Rudolph, 43, is replacing Les Donahue, who left to become president and CEO of Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta.
Rudolph is leaving her position as CEO of St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. The hospital is part of the Lutheran Health Network, Fort Wayne, owned by Community Health Systems, Franklin, Tenn. She joined St. Joseph in 1990 and became administrator of the system's Dupont Surgery Center. In 2000, she moved to Lutheran's Dupont Hospital, where her roles included vice president of operations and chief operating officer. Last year, she became St. Joseph's CEO.
Michael Schatzlein, president and CEO of St. Thomas Healthcare Services, worked as a physician and an executive within the Lutheran Health Network from 1980 until taking his position with St. Thomas in June.
