Stantec, an Edmonton, Alberta-based planning, engineering, architecture and project-management company, said it signed a letter of intent to acquire Anshen and Allen, a healthcare architecture firm based in San Francisco. Stantec spokesman Jay Averill said, “It will be an all-cash deal.” Last year, Anshen and Allen received an honorable mention in Modern Healthcare's annual design contest for its work in transforming a vacated Redwood City, Calif., dot-com office complex into a satellite outpatient campus of the Stanford Hospital & Clinics system. (Results of the 25th annual Modern Healthcare Design Awards will be announced Sept. 6.)
