BayCare Health System has named Tim Thompson chief information officer. Thompson succeeds Lindsey Jarrell, who left the Clearwater, Fla.-based system last December to start a health information technology consulting firm.
As CIO, Thompson will direct and manage the system's implementation of an electronic health-record system. Thompson has rolled out EHRs at more than 30 hospitals during the course of his career, according to a news release from BayCare.
Thompson most recently served as CIO and senior vice president of Methodist Hospital System in Houston. He has also held the CIO and senior vice president roles at Orlando, Fla.-based Adventist Health System and at Palmetto Health, Columbia, S.C.
His age was unavailable at deadline.
