Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts' board of directors has selected Andrew Dreyfus, currently executive vice president of Health Care Services for the company, to become the insurer's new president and CEO. The appointment is effective Sept. 7, according to a news release.
Dreyfus tapped for CEO post at Mass. Blues
Dreyfus, who has been with the company since 2001, replaces interim President and CEO Bill Van Faasen. Van Faasen has served in that role since March 2010 when former President and CEO Cleve Killingsworth resigned following financial results showing the company lost $149 million during fiscal 2009. Van Faasen will remain with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in an as yet unnamed capacity.
