Ingenix, Eden Prairie, Minn., plans to acquire Executive Health Resources, Newtown Square, Pa., a company that provides software and services that help hospitals with physician medical management and medical necessity compliance.
Ingenix to acquire Executive Health Resources
The transaction is expected to close by year-end, pending regulatory clearance and customary closing conditions. The terms were not disclosed, though the deal was rumored in previous published reports to be valued at $1.5 billion.
Executive Health Resources claims more than 1,100 hospitals and health systems as customers. Ingenix, a technology and consulting subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, said in a news release that the acquisition will position the company to help hospitals and systems as they treat growing numbers of patients in government-sponsored health plans.
In July, Ingenix announced plans to acquire Picis, a developer of clinical health information technology systems for hospital emergency, surgery and intensive-care departments and hospital financial information systems.
