Trace Devanny has been named CEO of the TriZetto Group, a healthcare information technology company serving payers, effective July 19.
Devanny replaces Jeff Margolis, who has been chairman and CEO since founding TriZetto in 1997. Margolis will continue as chairman of the board. Devanny will lead TriZetto from Greenwood Village, Colo., which will replace Newport Beach, Calif., as the company's headquarters.
Devanny, 58, was most recently president of Cerner Corp., the Kansas City, Mo.-based health information management company. He spent 17 years at IBM Corp., where he led its healthcare business in the Mid-Atlantic region. He was also president and CEO of ADAC HealthCare Information Systems, a radiology information and image-management firm acquired by Cerner in 2000.
“Having been part of a leadership team that enjoyed tremendous growth at Cerner, I look forward to helping TriZetto capitalize on the many new growth opportunities it has created,” Devanny said in a news release. “This is a truly unique time in the healthcare industry, and I see tremendous opportunity to leverage TriZetto's unique industry assets and positioning.
