Community Health Systems, Franklin, Tenn., said it has acquired Marion (S.C.) Regional Healthcare System for undisclosed terms.
S.C. health system acquired by Community
The system includes 124-bed Marion County Medical Center and a 92-bed skilled-nursing facility, both in Mullins, S.C., and other ancillary services. The acquisition gives Community six hospitals in South Carolina. Marion County Medical Center is about 20 miles east of one of those hospitals, 310-bed Carolinas Hospital System, Florence. Investor-owned Community operates 123 hospitals in 29 states.
Marion Regional first disclosed the deal in April.
