The 60-bed Trinity Community Medical Center, Brenham, Texas, has formally partnered with four-hospital Scott & White, Temple, Texas, following a seven-month due-diligence period. The hospital is now known as Scott & White Hospital-Brenham, and includes the acute-care hospital, a 128-bed long-term- care facility and a charitable foundation.
Trinity Community partners with Scott & White
The Texas providers announced in a news release that the current leadership of the hospital will stay in place along with its existing open-staff model for physicians. “These long-standing, trusted members of the Brenham community will continue to run the facilities,” said Alfred Knight, president and CEO of Scott & White, in a written statement.
The proposed affiliation was announced November, but could not take place until Trinity's former religious sponsors, the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio, voted to dissolve their 20-year relationship with the hospital. Scott & White said that vote took place in April.
