New York-based consultancy Mercer has acquired a privately owned health and benefits administration firm that was already providing the technology for one of Mercer's outsourcing programs. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to a news release from Mercer, the acquisition of Innovative Process Administration, Cleveland, will strengthen Mercer's outsourcing business in health and benefits administration in the midmarket segment by giving the international firm direct access to IPA's talent and technology.
IPA provides outsourced health and benefits recordkeeping and employee enrollment technology to employers. The firm already supplies the underlying technology to support Mercer's EasyEnroll program. IPA will continue to operate under its existing brand name, and IPA President and CEO James Zedella will become a small- and midmarket business leader at Mercer.
