Robert Allen, an internal medicine physician, is joining Mercer's Global Health Management team, working with multinational organizations on health risk management and behavioral health.
Mercer hires Allen for global health team
Allen was previously regional medical director for Asia strategy for International SOS, in Singapore, where he consulted with multinationals to develop health management programs. He was also medical director with Great West HealthCare, Aetna and Cigna. In his new position, he will be based in Los Angeles and Singapore.
“With Dr. Allen's expertise, we will develop enhanced programs that directly impact health costs, productivity and employee engagement levels,” said Rosaline Chow Koo, senior partner and leader of Mercer's Health & Benefits business in the Asia Pacific, in a statement.
Separately, Mercer announced that Arnold Milstein, who serves as the firm's chief physician and U.S. healthcare thought leader, has been named as a tenured professor of medicine at Stanford University. Milstein will establish a new research center at Stanford focused on accelerating innovations in healthcare delivery. Milstein will continue to work with Mercer on innovations to lower healthcare costs and improve quality.
