John Chessare, a veteran health system executive with a focus on patient safety and clinical outcomes, has been named president and CEO of Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Towson, Md.
Chessare named CEO of Greater Baltimore Medical Center
Chessare was the unanimous choice of the GBMC HealthCare board and will start on June 14. He succeeds John Saunders Jr., who was the interim president and CEO after the resignation of Laurence Merlis this past January.
The former president of Caritas Norwood Hospital, Chessare worked as a consultant to hospitals, aiding with operational efficiencies.
Chessare, a pediatrician by training, has focused on improvement in health outcomes and patient and staff satisfaction. His age was not provided by deadline.
