Devicemaker St. Jude Medical, St. Paul, Minn., has announced it will pay $90 million in cash to acquire LightLab Imaging, Westford, Mass.

LightLab is a developer of the high-resolution coronary-imaging technology optical coherence tomography.
The acquisition, which is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory review, is expected to close in late June. St. Jude has projected that the new technology will contribute an additional $20 million in revenue to its cardiovascular business during the second half of 2010.
