In response to Joseph Conn's "VA's overhaul of VistA could cost billions":
Before we throw the "baby out with the bath water,” maybe we should have a very good idea as to the development cost and the maintenance cost going forward. I believe the current system is responsible for significant "sick care" delivery savings, and it has the potential to support "well care" programs, a critical component for veterans. It would be important to know if previous savings would continue or diminish over time. Having something new isn't always better.
