IMARC Research, a clinical monitoring company based in Cleveland, has promoted Brandy Smith to chief of clinical operations. Smith, 30, has been with the company for three years and previously served as a clinical research associate, monitoring trial data for medical devices. She assumed her new role in January, according to a company spokesman.
Before joining IMARC, Smith was a biomedical project engineer at BIOMEC, a medical device company also based in Cleveland, which was acquired by Greatbatch, Clarence, N.Y., in 2007.
“Early in her tenure at IMARC, Brandy quickly advanced to lead monitor,” according to the company. “Her strong working knowledge of regulations, ability to find solutions and talent not only to lead, but get things done, paved the way to her promotion as chief of clinical operations.”
