Flooding of the nearby Cumberland River closed the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center and the Nashville convention spot “will likely be closed for several months,” Gaylord Entertainment said in a news release. The Healthcare Financial Management Association scheduled its 2010 annual meeting at Gaylord Opryland in late June. Calls to the HFMA were not returned at deadline.

After record rainfall, levees along the Cumberland were breached early Monday, the company said. Roughly 1,500 employees and guests were evacuated Sunday. Rainfall in Nashville during the first two days of May totaled 13.6 inches and exceeded the city's prior two-day record of roughly 6.7 inches, the National Weather Service said.
