An item in the March 25 issue of Health IT Strategist incorrectly defined two terms—“no consent” and “opt-out with exceptions”—that appeared in a report on consumer consent options for health information exchanges. In the “no consent” model, patient data is automatically included, and in the “opt-out with exceptions” model, data is automatically included unless patients choose to opt out or include only selected information.
