In response to Joseph Conn's "DEA issues interim e-prescribing rule":
I read with enthusiasm your story on the Drug Enforcement Administration's interim final rule on electronic prescribing. Tidewell Hospice provides care for over 1,500 patients daily with life-limiting illnesses. Many of these patients are in pain and require the prescription of controlled medications to ease their suffering. The ability to use e-prescribing for controlled substances will improve the speed with which our patients receive these essential medications. I encouraged support of this interim final rule and applaud the DEA for this compassionate legislation.
