I applaud President Barack Obama for his hard efforts to make healthcare reform possible for all Americans. Shame on those who thrust out with hatred and ugliness. People need to look back at history and remember how brave men and women fought for this freedom. Freedom of choice.
I am appalled at the violent opinions being displayed against it. Our ancestors were tortured, beaten and murdered in the fight for freedom. Protesters should keep this in mind and act with integrity and respect to these people and to all Americans. We are all entitled to speak up, address our concerns intelligently with a platform of concern for proper debate.
Do they remember the fight against Medicare? Should we dissolve that as well? Top cause of bankruptcy in this country is due to medical expenses. Emergency rooms should not be the major source of healthcare, but, for some, that is all they have. If they have no insurance, society is still carrying the burden. It will just increase as the population grows. It may not be perfect but it is a path to a solution. You go, Obama!
