GE Healthcare, a medical technology and services company based in the United Kingdom, announced the acquisition of MedPlexus, Sunnyvale, Calif., and all of its offerings.
MedPlexus sells electronic health records, revenue-cycle management software, and hosted services for payroll and billing to small, independent practices.
The company will use the acquisition to strengthen its presence in the independent physician office market, GE Healthcare said in a news release.
The addition of MedPlexus products will also give GE Healthcare customers the option of buying physician practice management solutions and EHR systems through a “software as a service” platform, which deploys software for use over the Internet.
