Craig Brammer, the project director of the Aligning Forces for Quality program in Cincinnati, has been named deputy director of the Beacon Community Program, one of several health information technology development efforts created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Brammer, whose age was unavailable at deadline, will work under the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at HHS.
In December, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the three-year, $235 million Beacon program, which will involve 15 not-for-profit and government organizations that already are leaders in health information technology to “generate and disseminate valuable lessons learned that will be applicable to the rest of the nation's communities.”
Aligning Forces for Quality is a 15-community healthcare quality improvement effort funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
