GE Healthcare, a medical technology and services company based in the United Kingdom, announced the acquisition of MedPlexus, Sunnyvale, Calif., and all of its offerings.
MedPlexus sells electronic health records, revenue-cycle management software, and hosted services for payroll and billing to small, independent physician practices.
The company will use the acquisition to strengthen its presence in the independent physician-office market, GE Healthcare said in a news release.
The addition of MedPlexus products will also give GE Healthcare customers the option of buying physician practice management solutions and EHR systems through a “software as a service” platform, which deploys software for use over the Internet.
