The TriZetto Group, a Newport Beach, Calif.-based provider of information technology software and consulting services for healthcare payers, appointed Jeffrey Rideout, M.D., chief medical officer and senior vice president of care and cost management, effective immediately. Rideout was previously CMO for Blue Shield of California, according to a news release. He is currently a faculty member at the University of California at Berkeley Haas School of Business, where he teaches a course in healthcare innovation. In his new role, Rideout will lead the expansion of TriZetto’s cost and quality-of-care software sets, including value-based benefits and reimbursement and pharmacy utilization management tools.
