The Central Connecticut Health Alliance promoted Clarence Silvia to succeed Laurence Tanner as CEO in July. Silvia, 54, has also been named to succeed Tanner, 63, as president and CEO of the Hospital of Central Connecticut and president of the Central Connecticut Health Alliance, effective immediately.
Silvia was previously chief operating officer of the 319-bed Hospital of Central Connecticut and senior vice president of operations for the Central Connecticut Health Alliance. He was president and CEO of one of two hospitals that merged in 1996 to become the two-campus Hospital of Central Connecticut. Tanner will continue as CEO of the Health Alliance through June as regulators consider a proposal for the CCHA to become a subsidiary of three-hospital Hartford (Conn.) Healthcare.
