Imprivata, a Lexington, Mass.-based provider of healthcare-information privacy and user-access software, appointed Barry Chaiken, M.D., chief medical officer, effective immediately. Chaiken, a preventive-medicine physician with a background in public health and healthcare quality management, is the board chairman of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He is also founder and CMO at DocsNetwork, a healthcare information technology consulting firm, as well as a continuing medical education lecturer and editorial board member of the Journal of Patient Safety and the Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare journal. In his role as CMO for Imprivata, Chaiken will advise on product direction and developing strategic relationships and partnerships for the company's new global healthcare division, according to a news release.
