Regarding “Obama backs reconciliation maneuver”:
So, we are going to pass the most comprehensive overhaul of the U.S. healthcare system in more than 40 years, something that many have been trying to accomplish since well before that, and we are going to do it via a legislative loophole designed to expedite the cleanup process in which it was intended that minor adjustments are made to comply with budgetary requirements, not the passing of whole new legislation—and we're going to do it without the participation of the other party. I ask the American people: Are your interests being appropriately represented? Do the opposing opinions have no weight simply because they are the minority party? Is it that black and white for you—that one party's vision unchecked by the other is OK? If you disagree, I think it is time to write your representative and your senators and let them know how you feel. Go to www.contactingthecongress.org for phone, e-mail and address information. Remember “of the people, by the people, for the people”?
