OptumHealth, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, has acquired Wellness Inc., a work-site wellness company, for an undisclosed sum.
Wellness companies announce acquisitions
Golden Valley, Minn.-based OptumHealth said it will integrate Aurora, Ill.-based Wellness' work-site programs into its existing services to employers—including biometric screenings, flu vaccines and health assessments.
“Combining the industry-leading work-site health screenings with our integrated solutions and innovative health information technology will create a wellness offering that we believe is unmatched in the marketplace,” said Rob Webb, CEO of OptumHealth Care Solutions, a division of OptumHealth, in a written statement.
Separately, Nutur, a wellness company based in Farmington, Conn., said it has acquired two health and wellness firms—ActivHealth and Wellness by Choice. ActivHealth, Nashville, offers health-risk assessments, employee incentive and reward tracking and online heath management. It also has an exclusive partnership with the Duke University Center for Living. Wellness by Choice, Syracuse, N.Y., offers work-site wellness and lifestyle coaching. The terms of the deals were not disclosed.
